The wire mesh belt shot blasting machine operates on the principle of abrasive cleaning and surface preparation through the following steps:
Loading: Workpieces to be cleaned are placed on the metal mesh conveyor belt, which runs continuously through the blasting chamber.
Blasting wheel propulsion: The machine is fitted with one or multiple blasting wheels strategically arranged around the blasting chamber. Each blasting wheel consists of rotating impellers that hurl abrasives such as steel shot or grit at high velocity toward the workpieces.
Abrasive impact: As workpieces travel through the blasting chamber, the blasting wheels blast abrasives onto their surfaces. The high-speed impact of abrasive particles strips surface contaminants including rust, mill scale, old paint and oxides off the workpieces.
Rotation of the wire mesh belt: The wire mesh conveyor runs continuously. As workpieces move along the belt, they also roll and rotate, ensuring full, uniform coverage of abrasives across every surface. The rotation of components enables thorough deep cleaning and uniform surface preparation.
Dust and waste collection: During blasting, dislodged contaminants and rebounded abrasives are captured by a dust collection system. This system usually comprises a cyclone separator, filter units and ventilation equipment that trap and remove dust and debris from the blasting chamber, maintaining a clean working environment and preventing particulate leakage into the surrounding workshop.
Abrasive recycling: Collected abrasives are separated from dust and waste inside the dust collection system. Recyclable intact abrasives are circulated back to the blasting wheels for repeated use, cutting material waste and optimizing overall cleaning efficiency.
Unloading: After passing fully through the blasting chamber and completing cleaning and surface conditioning, workpieces are discharged from the metal mesh conveyor belt. They can then be transferred to subsequent manufacturing or post-processing procedures.
The cleaning principle of the wire mesh belt shot blasting machine relies on high-velocity abrasive impact launched by blasting wheels against rotating workpieces. This mechanical action efficiently removes surface contaminants, conditions workpiece surfaces for subsequent treatment or coating processes, and delivers stable, high-efficiency cleaning results.
